Many people have different interpretations on what is needed to be considered a human being. For certain people, it is the capability of love, hate, and becoming jealous that classifies one to be a person. For others, it is the thought to have skeletal features and DNA strands that makes one to be a person. Regardless of those beliefs, there is one characteristic that is necessary for a human life; power of choice and possession of free will. Alex's statement reveals the amount of violence in him and what he does to innocent people on the streets. Alex's description of pain and blood is very different than what we would interpret it to be. He commented that "blood" is beautiful to see and therefore have an aesthetic property to it.
