Of all the places mentioned in the book, we chose some of the main places to describe and to explain their relation to the story. These places will be Santiago Nasar's place, Clotilde Armenta's store, Xius's house, and the main market place.
Santiago lived in Plácida Linero's house. This house was always barred from the inside and Santiago carried the keys to the back door of the house and this is where he always entered and left the house. The house always had a light on in the stairway so that Santiago could enter the house without having to switch on any lights. Santiago Nasar. This is also where they first started telling everybody about the fact that they were going to kill Santiago nasar. The store was in direct view of Santiago Nasar's house so that the brothers Vicario could easily keep an eye on it. The store is also where the brothers had their first set of knives taken away by the police officer so that they couldn't kill Santiago Nasar. When this happened, the older of the two already thought that this was their duty fulfilled but the other disagreed. And the killing was still going to continue.
The main market place is in the center of the village. This is where the Vicario brothers started sharpening their knives in public (hoping for somebody to stop them) but there weren't many people out because it was four o'clock in the morning. The people that did see them didn't take them too seriously. Also the brothers showed off their knives later on so that people would know that they were going to kill Santiago.
