The Manhattan Project was a research and development project that produced the first atomic bombs during World War II. It was led by the United States and ended in the annihilation of the cities and people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and ended World War II. The question is, was this the right decision made by the United States? It ended the war but according to many was highly immoral. Looking at the numbers of both bombings, it is easy to tell why the morality is questioned. An area of approximately 4.7 square miles was destroyed in Hiroshima.
