Introduction:

As a university that is ever growing in student population Midwestern State University is an alluring facility for great opportunities. As students we have vast worries, one being the transfer of sickness caused by bacteria from inanimate objects on campus. With the population setting about 7,000 students and growing it is safe to say we the students are at risk on a daily basis against a verity of bacteria.
Bacteria can be found virtually anywhere. The truth is that most bacteria we encounter are harmless. However, there are exceptions; many of the harmful bacteria can cause death. This is why analyzing environments with methods like Gram-negative and Gram-positive are ...

of Gram-negative vs. Gram-positive in the six public restrooms housed in the Moffett Library located at Midwestern State University. The group will collect samples from three surfaces: floor, sink, and toilet bowl. These surfaces will be tested with Gram staining then compared to note the total amount of Gram-negative or Gram-positive founded with in these restrooms.
The Moffett Library is an ideal location for its verity of networking activities. The library is a 54,499 square feet building, standing three stories high, and incasing 6 restrooms (Three separate restrooms for both sexes) (Moffett Library.edu) is our testing ground for our Gram staining. These six restrooms are the focus locations suspected to have the highest diversity of student population, faculty, and guest, thus giving use a multiplicity of bacteria concentration.
