The belief in myth has become almost non-existent in today’s society, where people worship their jobs, their cars, money and other objects of a material nature. Few cultures today are as spiritually in touch with nature as people were during primordial times. As seen through the film “Baraka” by Ron Fricke, we are no longer respectful of nature and we take for granted the world and its beauty.

As previously stated, we move to a different rhythm. Our chanting is the hum of the factory, the screeching metal on metal as the goods move down the line, or the honking horns from cars sitting in miles of traffic. Our dance is the mass “cattle-call” every day before 9 A.M. and 5 P.M. We have lost sight of the bigger picture, devoting our time to unworthy gods, gods of industry and commercial values. We put our faith into something that will yield a materialistic profit, when we should be worshiping to our gods for providing us with a beautiful existence.
