I want to be a crime scene investigator because I enjoy solving puzzles and would like to be able to help solve crimes. Crime is a major factor of today's life in the United States. Crime scene investigators are the support for the investigator in charge of the case. A crime scene investigator is responsible for the documentation, identification, processing and collection of physical evidence from the scene of a crime.

Ballistics can be used to determine the make and model of a firearm that a bullet collected at a crime scene was fired from. By using the marks on a fired bullet, investigators can determine if the bullet was fired from a particular gun. Tire marks and footprints can also be obtained from a crime scene and then compared to a suspect's vehicle or shoes. They are usually used to prove a suspect was present at the scene of a crime.

My own area of interest would be forensic toxicology. My goal is to be able to determine if drugs, whether illegal or medicinal, were a contributing aspect or the cause of death.
