Pan was a ugly god. Yet everyone feared him because of his voice.
Athena was the strongest goddess of all the goddesses. Meleagros loved
Atlanta, but his life would soon turn to fate.

Both W.H.D. Rouse and Edith Hamilton said that Pan was a Cheiron,
half man and half goat. Everyone feared him because of his monstrous voice.
We still use the word panic which came from his name.

He also invented the panspipes which both authors said. He was a
very good musician and inventor. He also chased nymphs but could never get
them because he was too ugly.

There were a couple of contrasts between the books. Rouse said that

Meleagros was a fighting god who killed the wild boar in Calydon
with the help of Atlanta. Atlanta shot the boar with an arrow. At the time
it was wounded, Meleagros went to the boar and stabbed it in the heart. He
gave the boar's skin to Atlanta. Both authors also said he was in love
with Atlanta. He killed his mother's brothers. At that time his mother
found out that if the brand wasn't lit he would die. She quickly put it out
and hid the brand.

Hamilton spells his name a whole different way. It was spelled
Meleager. It also said in his book that three men were killed before they
killed the wild boar. It didn't say that in Rouse's book. It also said in
Hamilton's book that Meleagros's mother hung herself. Rouse just said she
made away with herself. Rouse said that Artemis turned Meleagros's sisters
into guinea-hens so no one would kill them or eat them. It also said in
Hamilton's book that Atlanta did not want to get ...
