Analyzing pre-conquest America will help us understand how regions use their aspects, such as religion, social structure and the tributary system to make them the way they are. It's really interesting how; people live differently than how we lived. The pre-conquest Americas are different civilizations, but that doesn't mean that they have nothing in common. these different religions from different civilizations have the serpent in common, even till this day. I would also suggest reading the story of Adam and Eve, it would really help understanding and relating these two stories from the Aztecs and Mayans.
The Aztecs and Incas might be different civilizations but they both have social structure. In the Aztec tribute, it talks about how the poor live, eat and sleep. You get a glimpse of how the poor from the Aztecs lived. The Inca Tribute story is quite different than the Aztec one because this is a testimony of Martin Cari, Chief Of The Lower Division. Now this story talks about how people served him or the region. If you can recall the other article Testimony Of The Indians, well that story is on the workers' point of view. So those two stories are about the same thing but belong in different categories.
