As appealing as the idea of a technology driven travel sounds, it is not that simple. There are only very few notable travel sites available to the public and the reviews that they provide cannot always be trusted to be accurate.

Crowdsourced data is highly susceptible to bias and it is easily possible to manipulate the free information on these sites with fake reviews. For example in 2017, one of the top restaurants in London according to TripAdvisor was the Shed at Dulwich which was stated as an "appointment-only restaurant that had been operating privately for years." Fake reviews praised the restaurant and it catapulted to become the number one rated restaurant in London. The only problem being that this restaurant never existed.
