Introduction to the current situation in Russia in 1914-1917

The world war had started and Tsar was forcefully pushing Russia into the war, but Russia wasn’t prepared for the strain of war. The army wasn’t properly led and was poorly equipped. The army had suffered huge defeats at Tannenburg and Masuria lakes. This made the government of Tsar look incompetent in front of the Russian citizens especially when Tsar Nicholas himself insisted of taking personal charge of the army. Mean while when Tsar Nicholas had left for the war ground he had left his wife Tsarina in charge of the government.
