Differences in Texas and US Constitutions

Our founding fathers thought it would be best for the US to base our country on freedom and rights. So the constitution was written. When it was written many issues were raised regarding of the future of our country and its powers and rights. They made the constitution to be flexible so that future generations could change it to better suit the times. The first ten amendments were called the Bill of Rights. The State of Texas also has an article entitled The Bill of Rights in its constitution. But even though the amendments and ideas for both the Texas Bill of Rights and the US Bill of Rights work toward the same goals, they are also differing from one another.

direction were somewhat the same for both, some of the rights stated in the Texas Bill of Rights were the same as the US Bill of Rights. Freedom of worship and speech are clearly outlined in both the Texas and United States Constitutions, for example. The right of a fair trial and double jeopardy are also some other good examples of the similarities in the two documents.
Because the state of Texas and the union didn’t agree upon terms in the beginning, Texas wanted to stand alone in its ways and ideas of government. The only way of doing this without complete separation from the union was to set its own ways and ideas to work as a state. It is shown very clearly in the Bill of Rights in the way that it is structured. Texas wanted its state and federal government to be prosperous but it also wanted to feel independent in the way of working its own state government.
