Messages from the electric telegraph begin to replace letters brought by horses or ships. Electric power follows soon after. For now it can power advance machines to help people communicate better with each other. The discovery of communicating with electricity has led to significant changes in people's lives. Electronic messages or e-mail by computer can travel 100 million times faster than a horse or ship. Cellular phones let us talk where ever we are as long as there is a signal. But the biggest effect is to give people the power of information. Newspapers haves numerous reports from all over the world with enough information to keep people informed.
