Epistemology

Epistemology is one of the three branches that make up philosophy that covers the concept of knowledge. What is knowledge? Knowledge consists of the force that powers our brains to intake, process and output pieces of information we experience and produce from reasoning. Information is found in both invisible and physical forms, ranging from the images, words, and feelings we hold in our mind’s vast infrastructure of neuro-networks to books, movies, and music we have in our physical processions.

Skepticism, on the other hand, is not so much a concept of how we have and obtain knowledge, but rather how we doubt our knowledge. There are things we agree with and things we disagree with and these choices of agreement are examples of our own skepticism in epistemology. Some may even call themselves a skeptic, but in reality, we are all skeptics to a certain degree. Skepticism is held by a foundation made of both empiricism and rationalism, because to be skeptical of something is to disagree with something without having prior experience or possible reasoning of it’s validity in truthfulness.
All three branches of epistemology can be found in most arguments over controversial issues, because most of them have already occurred, have conflicting reasoning between different people, and a battle of skepticism when these people meet up to debate over it.
