of active versus passive euthanasia and the question of when euthanasia should be used. People are put on this earth to live. When it gets to the point where the quality of a person's life gets so bad that they can no longer function in the world, there is no reason to force that person to stay alive. It is morally right for a person to seek euthanasia because it is their freedom to control their own lives. It ends the suffering of the patient without harming other people. Furthermore, it prevents the person from suffering by giving him/her lethal injection or medication that prevents a person to die slowly with pain. A thorough assessment should protect a patient who requests euthanasia for the benefits of others.
