We see this example in his own painting “Evening: Landscape with an Aqueduct,” which was part of a set of three. The other two were called “Noon: Landscape With a Roman Tomb” and “Morning: Landscape With Fisherman.” Like romantics in this era Gericault used the most important term that was being emphasized in this time, Landscape in his titles. In “Evening: Landscape with an Aqueduct” he gave attention to simplistic things like the reflection of the bridge being distorted by the water, or the sun radiating off the landscape in the orange and red colors.
