Guy Montag is the protagonist in the novel. Unlike other characters, he is brave and human allowing the readers to connect with his plight. At first, Montag is happy with his work and is depicted as a hardworking man serving as a model of twenty-fourth-century professionalism. However, in the last two years, he develops a discontent, and he is filled with emptiness and dissatisfaction. His marriage starts crumbling, and all he can do is watches his next-door family to make him stay home. He tends to consider more on the harshness of the society rather than his happiness. Amidst this time, he seems to be struggling to maintain his friendship with Clarisse since he is no ready to let go of his memories when he was in love (Bradbury, 2017).
