When a teenager turns sixteen years old it's a very important day in their life due to the fact that they are closer to being independent by getting behind the wheel without their parents or adult supervision to drive them around everywhere they want to go, but for other teenagers it's a different type of story. Therapy Association's Developmental Disabilities Special Interest Section. She been working with student with disabilities and the students parents have asked her if it's possible for their child to drive. She wanted to respond to the every question the parents were asking her about teenager with disabilities learning how to drive. So she made it a topic to talk about this with other practitioners. The occupational therapy practitioners can evaluate and once considering if the teenager with disabilities may be eligible for driving instruction. An OT practitioner can work with the student in advance before they can reach the driving age.
