Chapters 23-25 discussed about if the public should be science liberate. As I read these chapters during the lacks time period, people weren’t science liberate. In a way they were closed off on what was happening around them. The health issues that the Lacks had to face wouldn’t have had been severe if the public had been science liberate. They should have had the rights to know what was going on with their surroundings. Doctors will try to explain their diagnoses to the patient but if the patients are uneducated in this field then it will not really matter if the doctor tells them or not.

could something like this happen where people weren’t science liberate? I mean I understand that the time era then was totally different know. My question is will the people such as the Lacks family become science liberate? To go through what these people had to go through was just completely horrible. Nobody fully understood what was happening with Henrietta and without the knowledge of science everything would still be the same. People must be science literate to be more aware of what is happening and to also to grasp a better understanding of what can happen when certain things are done.
