The history of Home Depot’s has its ups and downs in many ways. The founders of Home Depot have a different approach towards the organisation. Innovation and initiatives were the key quality used by them. Managing a large company such as Home Depot is a complex role whereby effective and efficient manager is required to possess a number of skills, knowledge and attributes. As a leader, Nardelli preferred to direct and influence others. He preferred a ‘command and control’ management, where the higher level managers have more authority than the lower level managers.
