“Kill ‘em With Kindness”

I believe in killing people…with kindness. When I was in about sixth grade, the drama began for me. I was at a friend’s birthday party and I sat too close to some girl’s boyfriend. Not even noticing I had done it, I was oblivious when her best friend came up to me telling me how I “needed God in my life” and how bad of a person I was. I didn’t understand why these girls were being so hateful to me. When I went home from school that day, I could not stop crying. My mom, always knowing how to make things better, sat me down on our brown leather couch to teach me a lesson about life.

But, throughout all the fighting and arguing and yelling, I stayed with him. My best friends and even my dad stopped talking to me, wanting so much for me to make the right decision to not be with him, but I wouldn’t. Until, one day, I was finally able to let him go. For everything he did to me I could go crazy on him. I could get mad and show all my anger. I could cry and show how much I’ve been affected by his verbal abuse. But I do neither. When I see him now, I smile at him. There are so many things I could do to get back at him, but just one smile does it all. It says everything I need to say.
