In The Bronze Bow the idea of love crops up again and again. It is a common problem and directs the path that the main character ,Daniel, takes. Several times Daniel is forced to choose what he loves, and what he hates. Love is a powerful force in this book and changes the outcome of Daniel's life extremely.
Love is not supposed to be something to take for granted but something to be celebrated. For love in not envious of others, love does not boast of it's strengths to others, love is not proud. several different types of love throughout this story. He has feeling for Thacia, cares about Leah, and carries the vengeance of the ones who loved him so much they died for them around. Near the middle of the book Daniel goes back to his hometown to see his dying grandmother. He feels immense pain when she dies and is left with a feeling of grief as she passes. This is love. He felt love for his grandmother and is one of the few times he cries during the book. As she dies though Daniel has Leah forced upon his care. He takes the time to move her to a different house and slowly starts to get to know her a bit. Anyone with no love towards Leah would've left her alone and ,ultimately, to die. So this means Daniel felt love for Leah. Another character Daniel cares for in this story is the slave Samson.
