I was brought up in America but educated at Oxford because all my ancestors have been educated there for many years. It ‘s been a family tradition”(pg.69). After he says this to Nick. Nick saw and knew he was lying just by his actions. “he hurried the phrase “educated at Oxford”, or swallowed it or choked on it as though it had bothered him before”(pg.69). From these two Quotations the reader can tell Gatsby is a man with no morals and must live a with telling people he is a normal person with a lot of old money. But in reality he is only materialistic and always thinks he must impress himself to others.
