Movie: Casper - Death And Growth Of Characters

In the movie “Casper” three archetypes are shown through the death
and growth of the characters. The movie “Casper” shows a girl who moves
into a new home and town with her father and needs a friend. There are
many obstacles that she encounters on her way. Throughout the story evil
is shown by the greedy home owner Ms. Carrigan and her partner Dibs,
regeneration is shown through the death and the bringing back to life, loss
of innocence is shown when Cat looses her father after her mother is
already dead.
Throughout the story evils get in Cat’s way of helping Casper. Ms.
Carrigan the owner of the house finds out about the treasure and wants to

example is when Cat’s mom comes back for a short time to see Cat and Dr.
James, Cat’s father. The last is when Cat’s mom turns Casper back into a
boy so that he can dance with Cat at her party.
With all the death in the movie Cat has to come to realize the
reality of death and that it can happen to someone that she loves. Even
though they don’t show Cat’s mothers death in the movie it plays a big part
in the way that she acts and feels. She grew up a little with her mothers
death but not alot because she was still young. the second was when her
fathers dies and she has to find a way to get him back so that she is not
alone. The last is when Cat is dancing with Casper and she sees him
disappear back to a ghost.
Throughout the story there were examples of evil, regeneration ,
and loss of innocence. This movie “Casper” was big on humor and good
lessons, but it struck very hard to the ones who have experienced death and
evils ...
