This quote was said by Alexander Solzhenitsyn and I believe that it means that many people have gone places, done a massive amount of activities, gone through good and bad times and accomplished our goals in life. Another great work of literature that portrays this quote is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
