It is 11:55pm, and I am beat. I got out of bed this morning roughly around 6:30am; giving myself a considerably generous amount of time to leisurely prepare for my “big important” day at work. Now it’s about 8:15am, and if I don’t want to run into the automotive maze we call DMV traffic, I’d better get going. After-all, who really needs an additional half hour nap on 495 South; not me! Now, the time is 3:15pm. I’m in the car again, going just shy of ten miles per hour above the speed limit; I had a bit too much fun on my lunch break, and now I’m late! Finally, I’m home. the play Our Town, I realized just how valuable time is, and just how frivolously I have wasted it on the things that are not important.
While reading this play, I was truly touched. It was almost like I was sat down in the right class, at the right time, and given the exact material to regain a piece of mind. For the past few years I have been so out of touch. I have been so pressed about things I could have accomplished, things I need to accomplish, and even more so consumed withe the things other people were accomplishing around me. Unfortunately, I had not realized just how much time I was wasting little nothings until reading the play.
