Coming to the United States to attend college must be the event that has most influenced my life. Attending college was always my dream when I was in Hong Kong. However chances to enter a college is Hong Kong are very small, even for students who qualify. Hong Kong has only a few colleges, not enough for all the students who want to enter. But in the United States everything is the opposite.
The month I came to the U.S., I went to take the America College Test (ACT), and applied for college at the same time. The test was not very easy for me because English is not my native language. Before I enter MTSU, I'm shy, and I do not talk very much in class. But after I entered MTSU, I have met people from different countries and different cultures. I have become more self-confident, and have gained higher self-esteem. I began to participate in group activities.
I'm glad that I have the chance to attend college, and my dream has came true. I feel confident about my future and I hope that people who do not decided to attend college will change their minds.
