Personal Writing: Before Stepping Up To The Plate, You Need A Spot On The Team.
I was simply devastated. All I wanted since I was a little boy. I thought about giving up, ending it all. Maybe I was not cut out for it.
My most precious dream had been shattered with two simple words, “you’re cut.” Of course, Mr. Seabright did not said it like that, coaches never do. I gazed at my glove with a blank stare while he mumbled on about thanking me for my effort and time. It was an uncomfortable situation. So, that was it, I was cut. coach for my travel team and All-Star team. He asked me to play for the travel team, called the Devlin Team and I accepted, always eager to play as much baseball as possible. I had a good season with the Devlin team that year, and my two coaches were Mr. Keubler and Mr. Seabright. They were also going to coach the All-Star team.
