Reality
I think this is the mammoth mother of all abstracts. What's real?
i wish i knew. how can anyone be sure? surely, most people think they know
whats going on. But i wonder sometimes, what if we're all hallucinating?
the human brain, as complex as it is, is capable of creating its own
reality.
People that suffer severe shock or have other medical dilemmas,
sometimes hallucinate. Now, how can we know for sure that those people
arent being shocked out of hallucination. maybe they are seeing things as
they really are. maybe mainstream reality is just a day dream. a figment.
If 5 people witness the same incident, whether it be a murder, a
car accident, or even a ...

psylocibin(the
chemical in mushrooms), etc. are known to cause hallucinations. but again,
i ask, how can we know for sure. i believe that question is a rhetorical
one, the obvious answer is that we dont know. it could be that these drugs
are a doorway into, not out of, reality.
These thoughts are not pleasant ones, at least as far as im
concerned. to think that this all, what i know(or better yet, think i know)
might be a grand illusion, scares the crap out of me. to wonder, just to
wonder, is enough.
I think our sense give us a false feeling of security. because i
can see, feel, hear, smell, and taste it, it must be there. right? well,
maybe not. to quote an overused rhetorical question, what if we are all a
dream? an REM induced nightmare inside a real persons head. and better yet,
maybe the dreamer is God. capable of twisting and manipulating the dream.
