Not all parents believe and teach the concept that a child should know only of good and not of evil, but instead they teach about every obstacle a child could come across, good or evil. However, this causes a problem with kids becoming too knowledgeable about drugs, sex, and violence. That knowledge can make them want to experiment more with these “evil” behaviors. This is where the responsibility of being a parent comes in. In Gerard Jones’s “Violent Media Is Good for Kids”, parents had their children read comic books or play video games to express there anger and release their want for violent behavior (195-199). If parents choose to teach their children about good and evil, then they should be responsible enough to exaggerate that children should do only good things and not evil things. Parents should teach them of the dangers and consequences that come with doing evil.
