тАЬMexican Is Not a NounтАЭ by Francisco Alarcon is a poem of few words that is full of imagery and relatable verses. The poem begins with a statement, тАЬтАШMexicanтАЩ is not a noun or an adjectiveтАЭ (Alarcon 1). My understanding is that the poet is trying to say that тАЬMexicanтАЭ is not a thing or something used to describe something, it should not be objectified. Instead I think that the poet wants to show that тАЬMexicanтАЭ is a movement, a unison of people who have come together through pain and suffering. poem by Mark Halliday is a poem that was an enjoyable read. I think that in this poem the character finds safety and solitude while he is in the library. He describes 3 scenarios that occur outside of the library, all in his mind while he sits in the library. It is unclear to me whether these could be from the past or what may come in the future for him. The first scenario, тАЬ...
