Roosevelt Brief

Franklin D. Roosevelt played an important role in economic and social reforms and was the first president to reach out to citizens in “fireside chats” – leading to a “more personalized” and a closer relationship with citizens. His wife, Eleanor, aided him in social reforms, but his own party (Southern Democrats) hindered him in trying to end the Jim Crow era. He didn’t support Hitler but few listened to him.
