Rosa Parks

On the first of December, 1955, a black woman named Rosa Parks entered a bus in Montgomery. She then sat down in the coloured part of the bus, the only problem was that the white area was full, then the bus driver asked Rosa Parks to move further back in the bus so the white man who entered could sit down. She said no, because she was tired, not physically but tired of being treated like she was worth less because she was black. After that incident she was arrested then trialed and condemned and sentenced for bad behaviour and breaking local rules. The punishment was a 14 dollar ticket and some prison time.
The coloured didn't appreciate this of course, a protest boikot ...

The Jena Six in the name given to the group of six black teenagers that were charged for beating up a fellow student named Justin Barker. This happened the fourth december 2006. This is a case of major racial discriminating. I've read alot on the internet about this, also on the handout paper I got. And it seems there is many different stories. But they are kinda alike so I'll just tell one of those stories. Anyways, it all started with some black pupils went and sat under the tree wich «belonged» to the white kids. Usually the black kids sat near the auditorium and the white kids sat under that large tree also known as the white tree. So the day after three nooses, or hangman's knots, were hanging from the tree. The reports from that indicates that the teachers only thaught of this as a normal prank. But ...
