Exposition: New York , Rucker’s Park.

Main Characters: Stove – J.R.’S Father, Wise, Athletic, and is the referee for the championship game of the tournament.

Mackey (“Hold The Mustard “) - Best friends with J.R. , He plays on the Greenbacks , Good basketball player , & his nickname is Hold the Mustard.

J.R. - Stoves son, Athletic, good basketball player, also played for the Greenbacks,

Rising Action: 1. Mackey and J.R. decided to join the Greenbacks

2. Mackey makes a deal with another coach and receives money.

3. J.R. gets stabbed.

4. The championship starts and Mackey is guilty about what happened to J.R.

the bet. Stove becomes angry with Mackey because he lied to him after all that time.

Falling Action: Stove beats up Greene and Greene is arrested by the police.

Resolution: Although at first Stove was upset with Mackey, Stove and Mackey continued to become close again. They continued playing basketball together like they did before J.R. was killed, however nothing was like it was before.

Personal Reflection:

Overall, Rucker’s Park is a good book. It was interesting to learn about Rucker’s park especially because it is a real place. The book is also great because it has suspense in it which keeps you interested while reading it , never wanting to put the book down ...
