Sara loved school. She loved the excitement of learning something new everyday. It did not matter to Sara what it was they were learning about that day. Sara just loved the fact, that her brain would contain something new for her to mull over and think about. Even when Sara was not at school, she begged her mother to take her to the local library, so she could read the many books available.

Sara could spend hours there. Reading books. Perusing books. Flicking through books. Writing reading lists for her next library visit. When her mother came back to pick up Sara, she would smile, shake her head and help Sara carry back to the car, her over filled library ...

wanted to know everything. Well, she knew that she could not know everything. But- she was happy knowing just as much as would fit into her hungry brain.

Sometimes, Sara's mother would plead with Sara to go out and just be a regular kid. She would wait patiently when the bell rang in the hopes that Sara would want to have someone over to play, or- be invited to someone else's home. To her mother's disappointment, it never happened. Sara's mother wished that for once her daughter would not be so studious and enjoy herself, like all the other children laughing and running out of the school grounds- yelling out times that they planned to meet.

One morning, Sara's mother noticed that Sara had not come down the stairs, nose in some book at the regular time that she usually did. This was not like Sara at all. Sara's mother called out to Sara, but- there was no answer. Something was definitely wrong.

"What's wrong Sara? Why are you afraid to go to school?"

Sara did not want to get her friends into trouble. Her mother told Sara, if there were children at school who were bullying Sara, making her afraid to go to school did not mean that they were friends.
