School Ties

School Ties (1992) is a film that is set in the 1950s. It is a story about a star quarterback from a Pennsylvania steel town who is recruited to play football for an elite English prep school in hopes that they can defeat the school's arch-rival. This film portrays the difficulties of being the new Jewish student who has to fit into a predominately Christian school. David Greene played by Brandon Fraser knows that he might face individuals who hold biased views so he doesn't tell anyone that he is Jewish. The characters develop as their team skyrockets to the top, and David becomes everyone's favourite player. David is a hard-working student and an honest character.

and due to that motivation, the perpetrator committed this horrible act. Other acts of religion based bias (anti-Semitism) were evident in the film. David's girlfriend response when she finds out that he was Jewish she states to her friends, "I guess that why we always bumped noses when we kissed". The drama during the film is so high at this point because you want to just yell out that it was the prejudiced student who had done the cheating on the exam. This conflict was resolved when an honorable teammate that was in David's class came forward and told the dean that it wasn't David who cheated and that the other student had stolen his notes and used them to cheat on the test. The movie is basically over at this point the bad guy is expelled and David's religious affiliation isn't a secret anymore.The film ends abruptly and doesn't give any true feeling of acceptance by the school and its patrons to David other than he was the honest boy who came forward.
