�Sarah, why can�t you be more like your brother?� my mother inquired once again. �That was fine but you can do much better,� stated my dad, disappointed. In a fit of anger they both screamed, �can�t you EVER do anything right?� Although these may not their exact words every single time; it was always something along these lines, with something about grades, responsibility, trust, ect thrown in. My parents have never pressured me in one specific area, instead focusing on the entire view. The pressure to be perfect in every way has always had an enormous impact on me. It has resulted in pressure I put on myself to be perfect, which has caused a lot of problems and stress in my life. If someone else pressures me in any way, negative or positive, it has a negative effect on me. This also never really resulted in much of what my parents wanted after I reached a certain age. I performed to most of their �expectations,� while I still rebelled in others. My parents were (and still are) very angry about the fact they can�t control my every move, but there is really nothing they can do.
My parents were wrong to pressure me as much as they did and still do, but in the long run, as much as it has messed me up; they will still lose. It still makes me angry, but there�s nothing I can do about it until I move out, so I don�t see the point in pouting about it or making a big deal. I still get to ...
