Teens And The Price They Pay To Look Good

Today's teens are so looks oriented that they will go to great lengths to try to get the look of perfection. At first teens believed that in the summer their physical attractiveness measured up to how dark of a tan they had gotten. Now it has elevated and teens think they need to be tan year round. They run to tanning salons so they can spare themselves the embarrassment of being seen white while working on their tan. But what these teens don't realize is that their tanning beds are not only more harmful than the sun but while technology is developing scientists are making the beds more dangerous than ever, while trying to give you a faster tan.

I understand that people like to look nice and want to improve their looks, but there are safer ways than these tanning machines. The average 15-30 minutes spent in a tanning bed equates to an entire day spent at the beach. The question I ask is; why do today's teens worry so much about their appearance that they will spend hundreds of dollars a year torturing their bodies? Is it because they have a negative self-image and when they see beautiful models, actresses, or singers on TV or in ads that are being adored?
