The American Expeditionary Force / WW1

The role of the American expeditionary force during world war one was critical in bringing the war to a close. Through out the beginning of the war the axis powers had the upper hand. Now this was not a very significant upper hand because they were fighting “trench warfare”, and thus was very slow at gaining ground. This type of fighting resulted in more casualties for less ground gained than any other war in history up until that point.
