Caught up in the patriotism, young boys would throw dirt, oyster shells, and dirt at those who went into the stores. On February 22, 1770, eleven-year-old Christopher Snider, was doing just that, when he was shot in the chest and stomach. The men who had killed him were put into jail. In support, two thousand people lined the streets as Christopher’s coffin was being carried to the burial ground.7

The apprentice had been following orders by going after the officer, because they thought he did not pay for his haircut.
