The Path I Have Chosen
All my life, I have been questioned about what I want to do with my life. The answer to that question has changed more than once. Now that graduation is near, I have the obligation of making a more definite decision about my future. The selection that I have to choose from is vast, but with plenty of thought I have selected a path.
The path that I have chosen to take is to become a neurologist. The reason for my choice of neurology is that it would be a challenging career in an area that I would enjoy learning about. The approximate number of hours per week for a neurologist is sixty. They usually work in a hospital or in an office. A large majority of their time is devoted to communication with patients and their immediate families. There is a physical and emotional toll taken on the neurologist. The physical effect is due to the long hours spent at the work place. Neurologists are just as human as anyone; therefore, it takes an emotional effect on them when faced with having to tell their patients what the cause of their ailment is (Jakubiak 145).
