The Presidents Council Physical Fitness and Sports established the President’s Challenge Youth Physical Fitness Awards Programs. The purpose is to help students to make a commitment to increase physical activity and a lifetime of fitness. By involving students in the President’s Challenge, students are receiving the knowledge and understanding of the relationship between a healthy body and a healthy mind.
Our school participates in this Fitness program for several years. The awards are given in two levels - the Presidential and National Physical Fitness Awards. To receive these awards each student must complete these five categories: curl ups, shuttle run, 1 mile run, pull-ups, and flexibility v-sit and reach. The standards are on the following page.
