“He is going to need stitches for sure” are the first words I remember hearing immediately after arriving in the cold hospital room. I had just been rushed to the hospital after crashing my dirt bike in my back yard. It was without a doubt the most memorable pain that I have experienced. Also, it left me with a story about my most memorable scar.
It was a hot and humid summer day in the middle of July when I was outside enjoying time on my dirt bike. It was a beautiful day, and you could smell the honeysuckles in the air and feel the warm summer breeze rush across your body. daylight ran out. After all, summer was almost over, and it would be time to park the dirt bike for the long, cold winter. I began to believe it would be an exhilarating idea to start doing donuts in my back yard. I rapidly began to whip my dirt bike around in circles not realizing that I was beginning to drift toward a water drain. All of o sudden, my rear tire grasped the water drain and caught traction. Next thing I knew, I was laying on the ground in immense agony.
“Dad, my leg, my leg hurts so badly!” These words immediately began to flow from my mouth as soon as I grasped that the peg from the dirt bike had forced its way into my calf muscle. The pain seemed unbearable as I was picked up from the ground and rushed to the hospital. I finally arrived at the hospital after what seemed like endless hours of riding in that passenger seat in misery.
