The President requires knowledge of the laws of the United States in order to properly approve and veto bills according to the best interests and legalities of the United States. The President is the commander in chief of the United States Army and Navy in order to lead the country into war when necessary. The President must also work to better the United States by stopping corruption and ensuring the United States exhibits the long standing tradition of “every man created equal”. New York. Roosevelt’s experience proved that he was a capable leader suited to the position of President of the United States. Theodore Roosevelt had experience and a strong will to form him into a President more than capable of leading the United States.
Roosevelt was the Secretary of the Navy and a Colonel in the United States army. He possessed a necessary grasp on military tactics, weapons, and the mindset of the troops. These abilities would enable him to effectively conduct the actions of the United States military when needed and allow Roosevelt to make decisions on military matters in an informed manner.
Roosevelt worked to stop corruption in New York City as a congressman and later as the Governor of New York. Corruption in the government is a cancer that must be removed if the government is going to work for the people, and Roosevelt’s actions indicate that.
