William Carey was born was born on the 17th of August 1761, his family had lived in poverty, he was brought up in a small village/town of Paulerspury in Northampton. William had an interested in different things one of which was historical events and science, his hobbies avowed in things such as reading books and stories based on adventure which he loved. William drew out a map of the places in the world where the gospel had not been heard of yet, so he had dreams and visions of missionaries. When William first brought up the idea, the people that he lived near, didn't have the same passions for God and becoming a missionary as he did about it, some of the people we so against it and didn't want anything to do with it they started putting him down and saying it was interfering with Gods work.
