Mississippi can be a major setback for the women feminism movement. Women’s rights as citizens of America are at risk with the conservative outlook on abortion, because it doesn’t take into account women’s rights, and only focuses on the rights of the fetus. “Women’s bodies and lives are the terrain on which this conservative movement is making its stand” (Harris-Perry 1), the conservative position on abortion neglects to take into consideration the rights of the women carrying the fetus, and is essentially making the fetus more important than the life of the women carrying it.
