Juvenile Crime: Get Tough Programs Verses Blended Sentencing and Community Address
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page overview of juvenile crime. While “get tough” policies have resulted in a lowered degree of juvenile crime, our juvenile detention facilities and adult penitentiaries alike are filled to the brim. The economic cost of crime is astounding. A more effective approach than either “get tough” programs or rehabilitation would be to address the societal problems resulting in crime. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

Juvenile Crime: Juvenile Court, Adult Court, and the Alternatives
[ send me this paper ]
A 7 page discussion of our failure as a society to find an adequate address for juvenile crime. While juvenile courts are often perceived as a slap on the wrist, they characteristically fail to provide for the basic Constitutional rights that a juvenile is entitled to and often even deal out harsher sentences than adult court. Both juvenile court and adult court are ineffective in addressing the problems of juvenile crime. Alternatives must be identified. Bibliography lists 3 sources.

Juvenile Delinquency
[ send me this paper ]
This 7 page paper considers the underlying reasons for juvenile delinquency and the arguments that exist for its presence. ome theorists have argued, for example, that poverty and familial status is a determinant of delinquency, while others have asserted that educational experiences and a lack of religious direction in the lives of modern adolescents are factors that impact whether children turn to delinquency and crime. Juvenile Delinquency & The Home Social Environment
[ send me this paper ]
In 12 pages the author writes 2 chapters on the topic of juvenile delinquency and the home/social environment. The introductory of the paper states: "The issue of juvenile delinquency and the home/social environment is one of major concern to families, schools, law enforcement agencies and society as a whole. There has been an influx of juvenile delinquents in today's society, ranging from those who are involved in truancy, to gang activity, to those who are convicted murderers. Juvenile delinquency is prevalent across the nation. There is not one certain paradigm of pedagogy for this occurrence. Juvenile delinquency is cross-cultural and cross-racial. It does not know any restrictions on socio-economic class or religion. When measured by official statistics, the problem of juvenile delinquency is staggering. In an attempt to address the issue of juvenile delinquency in the home/social environment, the focus of juvenile delinquency has been directed at the home of the individual and the social environment in which he exists. This is done in order to better understand the causes behind the delinquent behavior of the individual." Bibliography lists 8 sources.
