The Many Manifestations of Aggression in Children
[ send me this paper ]
A 13 page overview of the different manifestations of aggression which occur among our nations young people. Notes the importance of both environment factors and genetic factors in determining the form aggression will take. Suggests that by far boys are more likely to exhibit the more serious forms of aggression than are girls and that the intensity of this exhibition increases rather than decreases with age. Devotes particular attention to the problems of verbal aggression, sexual harassment, and acts of over violence. Defines each and examines the different manifestations of each which have occurred during the last few years. These forms of aggression, in particular, are suspected to be the result of deeply rooted psychological problems. This paper suggests that the increase in aggression which we have experienced over the last few years is directly correlated with a decline in societal mores and norms but emphasizes that it is also important to remember that various physiological and genetic factors can be at play as well. Bibliography lists 9 sources.
