American Expansion in the 1890s

Starting with the Spanish American and emphasized by our relentlessness in quelling the Philippine Insurrection, the U.S. began to travel on the road toward being a world superpower. people. This paper will focus on the impact of
land on the American sense of progress from 1837
to 1867. Often when a country begins, it is
limited by its geographic borders; such was not
the case for the United States, as it settled on
the Atlantic coast, and through land purchases
and fantasies of wealth, pushed toward the Pacific
