The extent to which this type of programming taps into morbid curiosity inherent to the human species is both grand and far-reaching; that viewers want contestants to win but also to have their greatest vulnerabilities exposed speaks to the duality of why reality shows are so intriguing. One of the most unique premises is found on "Project Runway" where designer wannabes are pitted against one another with the intent of garnering the winning panel votes at the end of the show and earning a much-coveted career boost into the fashion world. The road to reach the runway, however, is paved with numerous hazards that try to detour them from their collective objective. No bibliography.
