Throughout the long history of China sports and activity have played an integral part in Chinese culture. Martial arts, dragon boat racing and Tai chi have been apart of Chinese identity for thousands of years. Whereas the new sports such as basketball and ping pong have only recently been introduced to China but are rapidly expanding across the country. Each sport is unique in their nature, but each influences many aspects of Chinese lifestyle and are often taught to children as part of their school education.
